Birthday dinner celebration with Homemade Events

Bittersweet Beginnings & Bright Futures: A Celebration of Friendship and Success
There’s something truly special about witnessing the heart of a dream take shape…and then transform into something even bigger. This week, I had the absolute honor of collaborating with a fun loving women-owned event company, Homemade Events, as they marked a milestone moment: celebrating their fourth year of designing and setting up unforgettable parties in our community.

One of the owners reached out to surprise her business partner by bringing me in to document their very last private dinner in the beloved space where it all began. A space I have loved myself over the years too. We have a lot in common which I appreciate so much.

The evening was a beautifully happy, intimate affair…thoughtfully catered by Seared and Saccharum, brimming with laughter, clinking margarita glasses, and joyful bites of food. The table was set with love, the decor reflected their creative spirit, the wildflower blooms beautifully designed by Sungrove Blossoms and the air was filled with both excitement and just the right touch of nostalgia.

As they prepare to become the lead coordinators of the spacious and beautiful natural light event venue, Slate on State, the transition feels like a natural next chapter… but it’s not without emotion.

Turning off the lights in that original space was bittersweet. But, as they frolicked and skipped across the grounds in the sunlight celebrating what’s next, I could see clearly… this isn’t an ending. It’s a continuation of something beautiful.

To these incredible women: thank you for inviting me in. Cheers to all you’ve built… and all that’s to come. I truly share in your moments of growth and gratitude.
